What has changed in the new plan?
A new plan version arrives, and somewhere in it something has changed. The software first looks for the differences itself, then the AI describes what it sees there, and the specialist decides what follows from it.
The AI sees only the 4 spots found and describes them. A second check looks again independently.
Switching shows both plan versions at the same spot. In Rev. B the wall is 60 cm further to the left.
Space 1.04 Room: 14.2 m² → 16.8 m²
Space 1.03 Room: 15.4 m² → 12.8 m²
Wall between 1.03 and 1.04 moved by 60 cm.
New door between room 1.05 and bathroom 1.07.
New line in room 1.03. What it represents cannot be made out.
Window in living room 1.01 40 cm wider.
Starting point.
In fit-out work a plan rarely arrives only once. The architect sends a new version, and somewhere something has moved: a wall, a door, a floor covering. Some of it is marked with a cloud, some not.
So two PDFs sit side by side and someone searches with a highlighter. Whoever misses something orders the wrong thing or calculates with the old area.
What is different in the new plan, and what does that mean for quantities, orders and schedule?
What we built.
A web application into which you load both plan versions as PDFs. Calculation comes first; only then does an AI take a look.
- Do the plans fit together? calculatedFirst the software checks whether the two PDFs can be compared at all, for example same number of pages and same format. If not, it says so instead of comparing nonsense.
- Finding differences calculatedThe software lays the two versions on top of each other and compares image and text. Changed dimensions and labels it reads straight from the PDF. It takes the drafter's clouds seriously, but also searches beside them.
- Looking closely and describing AIOnly now does the AI come in, and only for the spots found beforehand. It describes in words what has changed. A second check says whether it agrees, disagrees or has no answer.
- Every change marked in the plan calculatedIn the plan every change found gets a number, with before and after. For buildings with several floors the software also compares the rooms floor by floor.
What the AI does not do.
- It proves nothing. What the AI says about a spot is an impression. Only what is there in black and white in the PDF counts as evidence, and the application shows that difference.
- It does not change a plan. It sets markings. What gets updated in the tender, order and schedule is decided by the specialist.
- It does not guess on scans. The software rejects a scanned plan and says why. Unclear spots stay marked as unclear.
What we learned.

How many rolls do we really need?
How many rolls does the job need, where do the seams go, and what is left over? The software calculates it from the plan, without AI. The installer decides.

Table football, with a fair ranking.
We have a table football table in our office, and at some point someone wanted to know who plays best. So we built a small app: with AI as a tool, without AI in the app.

From menu plan to order
The kitchen uploads the week's menu plan and the AI suggests what needs to be ordered, with reasons and within budget. The kitchen manager checks and approves twice.

Plans, quotes, contracts, delivery notes: tell us about it. In a conversation we will see what can be calculated and where an AI would need to look. No obligation, of course.
